Parkinson's disease and psychological trauma study shows clear connection

A new study of data from US military veterans examined the association between psychological trauma, specifically post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and the risk of Parkinson's disease. A ball against the tremor

Many people with Parkinson's have lived with the tremor for some time. Getting used to it somehow; Medications have only a very limited effect and sometimes have very strong side effects.

"If the Vilim ball lives up to what it promises at the moment, it will be a breakthrough in the treatment of tremor in Parkinson's disease," says neurologist Dr. Dieter Volc. He discovered this while searching for new aids on the Internet and has been testing it informally with the help of interested patients ever since. Extensive studies on the effectiveness are to follow. The first results are promising: 15 of the 12 patients to date have reported a good effect.

Field report on therapeutic fasting according to Buchinger

Therapeutic fasting is absolutely trendy and I had heard and read a lot about it. Since the beginning, our entire “system” has been geared towards longer periods of “no food”. Nowadays, however, we eat almost constantly, whether out of hunger, appetite, boredom, grief or frustration, etc. The food industry also doesn't necessarily tell us what leads to a balanced diet Nutrition counts. Flavor enhancers, colorings, emulsifiers, preservatives, sugar, fast food and the like make us sick in the long term and we slowly develop food allergies and inflammatory processes in the body. I wanted to give my body a break and let myself be surprised by the positive effects of therapeutic fasting, despite or especially because of my previous illnesses (ulcerative colitis and Parkinson's disease).

Table tennis as a self-help

Today I, Jürgen Zender, am back in our sports hall in the east of Munich and, like every Monday and Thursday, I take part in table tennis training. Almost a dozen players meet here and together we warm up for a few rounds.

What is just a leisure sport for many has a very special meaning for all of us here. We all suffer from Parkinson's disease, a disease that prevents us from properly controlling our muscles and limbs. But that's exactly why we play table tennis. The complex and fast sport helps us to relieve the symptoms of the disease.
