In the case of a chronic disease such as Parkinson's disease, it is important for those affected and also for their relatives to be well informed. However, it is not for everyone to deal with medical literature. So that the thirst for knowledge can still be quenched, the self-help organizations JuPa Rhineland-Palatinate, the German Parkinson Association and the company Carasana produced short explanatory cartoons in a remarkable project and published them on YouTube.
I hope you enjoy looking at it and gaining new knowledge.
Honor to whom honor is due:
JuPa Rhineland-Palatinate is a self-help organization that specifically - but not exclusively - addresses the ever-increasing number of young people with Parkinson's disease. For me, their exemplary website was the first point of contact for obtaining information about my clinical picture - and I'm really not "young" anymore 😉
What does Parkinson's mean?
Not all tremors are created equal
Everything goes slower
The famous gear phenomenon
freezing - and suddenly nothing works anymore
Help - I can no longer read my own writing
The problem child in the background - non-motor disorders
How do I tell my doctor?
Something is wrong with my head
And what happens in the body?
Don't get inactive!
Do I need a special one? Nutrition?
Does corona make us a risk group?
The little helpers
Physiotherapy - a waste of time or a real benefit?
The psychotherapist - sparring partner in the fight against anxiety and depression
Occupational therapy - when buttoning your shirt becomes a Herculean task
Let's keep in touch and tell me what you think
If you have suggestions or want to get rid of criticism, this is the right place for it.
