Speech therapy is a classic face-to-face therapy that has actually always been ideally suited for video therapy. But Covid-19 first had to come over us before the health insurance companies recognized this form of therapy.
Incredible, but true - as soon as the number of infections goes down, speech therapists can no longer bill the video therapies.
We patients urgently need the opportunity to protect ourselves. And that means, as long as there is a general mask requirement and distance recommendations, we need the possibility of using video therapy to carry out therapies that only make sense without a mask.
Even if at some point Corona would no longer pose a threat to us at risk patients, video therapy would be a blessing for patients who are often severely restricted in their mobility.
