neuro workshop

the column for more Quality of life and fewer symptoms

what it's about.

Scientific studies show in particular the high effectiveness of physical training on the course of the disease and symptoms of Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and polyneuropathy. Although knowledge of the unique effect of the polypill Movement is known to over 75% of those affected, many do not know where and how to start or are afraid of doing something wrong. Here I want with the neuro workshop support and accompany involving the whole person. What that means in detail, I would like to report on in this column with articles, podcasts or videos and encourage you to get involved.

dr Mareike Schwed, June 2022

I often hear: "Why should I start with targeted training, now I hardly have any symptoms?" or "Sport? My energy is just enough for my everyday life”. But sporting training strengthens and stabilizes gait and balance, promotes regeneration and is an essential component in overcoming illness. Many of those affected know that they should urgently address the issue of exercise, including reducing symptoms, halting the progression of the disease and improving quality of life. Through the neuro-workshop I have already been able to activate many people to an active, lively life.

My aha moment

After several years of science transfer, intensive counseling and sports training, I was able to use my many years of experience as a scientist and trainer to design targeted patient training and to impart the theoretical and practical knowledge to those affected. The results of the pilot study were groundbreaking: Parkinson's symptoms improved by 50-70% in both groups of subjects. So far, such improvements cannot be expected either from a drug or from other interventions. So I decided: not to spend any time on further years of research, but to make the effects directly accessible to those affected - et voilá: the neuro-workshop.

Since then, I've been working on my concept both practically and theoretically - expanding, supplementing, incorporating the latest findings. And I hear every day that the individual and personal way of communicating makes the neurowerkstatt unique - even or especially in the event of difficulties. Because these years of work have taught me two things: People have to understand things in order to take action in a self-determined and motivated manner. And people who can then take responsibility for themselves achieve a much milder course of the disease.

what i want to do

I would like to motivate and activate people with chronic neurological diseases such as Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and polyneuropathy to establish exercise and sport as their own resources for everyday life. As a health stimulant, so to speak.

For more walking security. For a better quality of life. For more energy.

With appreciation. With creativity. With expertise.

Embark on a new path for your health with me. Here we go!
