It's taken a little longer for a new post from me to appear here in Parkinson's Journal. However, there is a special reason for this. We - that's 6 people who have Parkinson's disease and are already in different organizations or roles against the disease and for engage those affected - are currently preparing a nationwide challenge against the background of World Parkinson's Day on April 11th.

In short, it's about raising public awareness for 500.000 minutes for 500.000 people suffering from Parkinson's disease - or, as we say, donating.

How it works? Quite simply, as soon as you have been active in sports - whether healthy or ill - you donate your active sports time in the donation portal www.aktivzeit.org, which has been set up especially for this purpose.

With the Challenge, we want to achieve, among other things, that exercise as one of the few effective, non-drug therapies for Parkinson's gets more public awareness.

One of the six organizers is the well-known podcaster Kathrin Wersin and another one is myself. What could be more obvious than to produce a podcast episode with me as an interview partner and a presentation of our joint project "AktivZeit".

That's why episode 43 of my favorite podcast has become something very special for me. But listen for yourself...
